ESL Narasimhan’s connection to both the Telugu States has finally ended. Narasimhan was the Governor of Andhra Pradesh before the bifurcation in 2009. He continued to be the Governor for both the Telugu States even after the bifurcation. Very recently, Andhra Pradesh got its new Governor in the form of Odisha BJP Senior Leader, Bishwa Bhushan Harichandan.

Now, he is relieved of Telangana duties as well. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan has been made the new governor of Telangana replacing him. ESL Narasimhan has been the longest served Governor of Andhra Pradesh and one of the highest in the entire nation as well.

Narasimhan is not given the charge of any state even though there were rumors that he would be sent as a Lieutenant Governor to Ladakh. Narasimhan is the only UPA appointee Governor who is still in Office. His close proximity to National Security Adviser, Ajith Doval helped him, much says.

Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan is a medical doctor and former President of the Tamil Nadu Bharatiya Janata Party. She was a National Secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party prior to this appointment. Meanwhile, Telangana Senior Leader, Bandaru Dattatreya is appointed as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
