Guv Clears Three Capitals Bills - What Are The Options Left for Amaravati Farmers?A day after Andhra Pradesh BJP President Somu Veerraju told that the Union Government will not interfere in AP Capital issue, Governor Biswabhushan Harichandan approved the bills pertaining to the decentralization. The Governor had ratified the bills taking the legal opinion.

Now, Andhra Pradesh Government’s plan for three capitals has legislative backing. The state will now have three capitals – Vishakapatnam, the Executive Capital, Amaravati, the Legislative Capital, and Kurnool, the Judicial Capital.

The Bills will now require the assent of the President of India. But with the BJP being in the favor, that is likely to happen without any problem. The dreams of 25,000 plus farmers who have given their lands for the Capital are now crashed. They have no options now except for hoping the Courts to intervene.

The bills were strategically cleared at this time since the farmers would not be able to take up mass protests due to the Corona Pandemic.
