Arun Jaitley, Arun Jaitley AP Special Package, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley AP Special Package, MP Arun Jaitley AP Special Package, Union Minister Arun Jaitley AP Special PackageThe Central government seem to be working on the compensation package for Andhra Pradesh and there are indications that an announcement about that is going to happen after Krishna Pushkaralu. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley mentioned about this in Parliament Central Hall in his chitchat with the media personnel.

“You will hear a good news very soon. We are working on Special Status/Package. Venkaiah Naiduji is not doing well today. I will meet his tomorrow (Thursday) and will discuss with him about it and then take a final decision,” Jaitley told the media scribes. Jaitley also assured that whatever name may be, AP will be accorded with all the benefits entitled under Special Status.

“Center is already funding 90% of some important schemes. Few schemes are getting 60%. We are looking how they can be given in any other way. We will give more industrial incentives as well. The biggest challenge for us is to benefit Andhra without hurting the prospects of the other neighbouring states,” Jaitley added.

Going by what Jaitley said, there is a clear indication that it is going to be a Special Package and no Special Status. However, opposition parties have already confirmed that they are not ready to take anything other than Special Status. But AP government or people will have no other option but accepting Center’s offering and move on.
