Former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has made a crucial announcement at the Party’s 40th anniversary celebrations at NTR Bhavan, Hyderabad.
Chandrababu has come to the Party office in Hyderabad after a long time. As a result, there is so much of traction from the cadres of both the Telugu States.
Addressing the cadre, Naidu announced that he is planning to give 40% of tickets to youth in coming days.
“Don’t be afraid if you have no Godfather in Politics. If you have intent to serve the society, that is enough. It’s time for reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh,” Chandrababu announced.
These type of statements are good to hear but the big question is if there is commitment to implement. For that to happen, there should be no money and other calculations.
Most importantly, tickets for youth should not be about giving tickets to the sons or daughters of old leaders.
NT Ramarao has done that previously in 1983. Many influential leaders we see today in politics were youth and very normal people in the society.
They were given a chance and they worked hard to earn the confidence of the people. We have seen Aam Admi Party doing something similar in recent times.
Naidu should do something of such sort to take Telugu Desam Party closer to the young generation.
The party should reinvent itself to attract new voters and for that to happen, this 40% to youth is a good idea. All that needs is some courage to experiment.
