Teenagers, especially minors go through a lot of anxiety when they get caught in situations that they might consider a taboo. A 17-year old teenage girl from Mumbai jumped out of the window from the first floor only to fracture her left leg.
She was with her 20-year-old boyfriend in her bedroom when her mother walked into the house. Immediately, the girl urged the boyfriend to flee and out of anxiety, the girl jumped out from the window, even.
The 20-year-old boy, Sunil Zhende was booked under POCSO Act for the attempt of rape and house trespassing. Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) was passed for the legal protection of children below 18 years.
Government of India has taken up a lot of programmes to create awareness among the citizens of India about this powerful Act, POCSO to ensure child rights.
While this is the case, there is a section of citizens who see the present incident of the girl jumping out of panic as a case where sexual freedom of girls and women is called a taboo in this country. Follow Mirchi9 on Google NewsThis Week Releases on OTT – Check ‘Rating’ Filter
