ghmc-result-settler-areas-indicate-tough-time-for-bjp-and-janasena-in-apTelangana Rashtra Samiti has come back to the helm of GHMC but maybe because it fell short of the needed majority. With expected anti-incumbency, high voltage attack by BJP, and the effect of COVID mishandling and Rains, TRS would have been happy if it did not fell short of around 10 seats for Mayor seat.

The key takeaway of this result is the verdict of the settler areas of Hyderabad. BJP expected these areas to be a cakewalk assuming General aversion to TRS. But then, it turned out that these people strongly stood with TRS. The Ruling Party had won 17 out of the 18 wards in Kukatpally and thirteen out of the fifteen wards in Serlingampally areas where the settlers of Andhra Pradesh are in majority.

It looks like the voters who previously supported TDP and Congress are opposing BJP. The saffron party fared better in core areas where Telangana people are present in high numbers. It looks like more than the State Separation, BJP deceiving Andhra Pradesh on the name of Special Status and Amaravati is a factor there.

If this is any indication, it is bad news for the BJP and Janasena combine in Andhra Pradesh.
