Congress – JD(S) Alliance had pulled out a Blinder in Karnataka By-Elections. Counting is underway for three Lok Sabha seats- Shivamogga, Ballari and Mandya- and two assembly constituencies- Jamkhandi and Ramanagara- in Karnataka. D(S)-Congress alliance set to clinch 4 of 5 seats.
More importantly, Congress Candidate is more than One Lakh Votes ahead of the BJP candidate supported by Gaali Brothers. Bellary is the Home Turf and Bastion of Gaali Brothers and Congress winning there will be a massive sensation in Karnataka Politics. The seat fell vacant after Gali Janardhan Reddy’s Right Hand, Sriramulu resigned as MP and contested as an MLA.
Even though the elected MPs now will have under one year term. The results are being seen as a prestigious popularity test for the ruling Congress-JDS coalition. Moreover, BJP is keen to win this election and create insecurity among the MLAs of Congress and JD (S) to topple the government. Losing Bellary is a massive blow to BJP and it will have in impact for the ongoing General Elections as well.
