Fresh Petition in AP High Court Over The Three CapitalsA petition has been filed in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking suspension of the three Capitals Gazette. The Amaravati Raithu Parirakshana Samiti has approached the High Court to this effect. The petition challenges the government’s orders on the abolition of CRDA and the decentralization of governance.

The petitioner sought to stay on behalf of the farmers on the diversion of capital and the denotification of CRDA. The petitioner sought the court to direct the Government not to move Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister’s Office, Heads of Departments, and Secretariat from Amaravati.

The petition also urged the court to declare the GN Rao committee and the high power committee to declare it illegal. The High Court bench will hear the case tomorrow. With the bills getting the Governor’s assent, the farmers will be hoping that the courts will come to their rescue.

29,481 farmers have given 34,322 acres of land in the Land Pooling Policy of Chandrababu Naidu for the construction of Amaravati. Among these farmers, 5,227 farmers have given One to Two acres of land while another 3,337 farmers have given Two to Five acres of land. So, it will be the small and medium scale farmers that will be the most affected due to the Government’s decision.
