A 27-year-old Mumbai ad executive, Vinay Singh is one of the 23 lucky people who got a free ticket to space travel. The eligibility norms were not easy. All the enthusiasts (120 in number) were put through rigorous Physical and Mental tests before finalizing the passengers list. The space trip will begin from launch pad 39A at the Kennedy Space Centre, US. The first manned flight to the moon also took off from the same space centre in July 1969.
Vinay Singh got his free ticket on December 5th. The ticket was handed over by none other than Buzz Aldrin who is the companion to Neil Armstrong when he first landed on the moon. Vinay will go on the space journey in 2015. With this rare feat, he joins the league of Rakesh Sharma, Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Willaims who had already been there.
