As a part of Telangana government’s Free Public WiFi in Hyderabad city, the first phase of trial will begin very soon in Necklace Road and Gandhi Hospital area. The railway associate company, Rail Tel Corporation India Limited will take up this trial for three months and will steady the feasibility, costs involved and security measures to be taken under this scheme. And the free WiFi will be extended to all parts of the city phase by phase.
The free WiFi facility is already available in some malls and airports to their customers, Government is studying the measures taken by them for data security and prevention of abuse. Also currently there are no statistics with the government regarding the number of internet users in Hyderabad. Arrival at that number will give the exact estimate of the scope and range of this project.
