YS-Jagan-CPSAbolishing the Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) is one of the prime election promises of Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Jagan boasted about abolishing it in just one week of coming to power but it did not happen to date.

A few months ago, Sajjala Rama Krishna Reddy speaking to the media told, “The promise was made without proper research. Since we were in Opposition back then, we did not have the proper information. If we have to implement the Old Pension scheme, even the state budget will not be enough”.

But it seems like Jagan Government is just not interested in doing that. In the last month, we have seen Jharkhand Government taking a decision to abolish CPS.

Earlier Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan also did the same. Now, it is the turn of one more state government.

Punjab Government also decided to abolish CPS. The Governments which came to power without making any promises about CPS are abolishing the scheme, but Jagan Government is not showing any intent.
