Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani laid the foundation stone for the upcoming IIM campus at Gambeeram near Vishakapatnam. The event which took place a short while ago was attended by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu, Ashok Gajapathi Raju and other state ministers.
Andhra Pradesh was sanctioned 11 National Educational Institution in which IIM is the first one. The admissions in this IIM will begin from the next academic year. The classes will begin in the temporary campus setup in Andhra University.
APIIC had already collected 538 acres for this premier institution and the campus will come in 300 acres. The IIM will come up 30 Kms away from Vishakapatnam alongside the National Highway.
