Former Minister Arun Jaitley is No MoreFormer Union Minister, Arun Jaitley passed away a little while ago. Jaitley who is not keeping well for a long time was admitted in AIIMS on 9th of this month and was treated by a multidisciplinary team of Senior Doctors but could not, unfortunately, save him.

Jaitley who was the Finance Minister in Modi’s first term. He did not contest in the recent elections and also stayed away from Modi’s Cabinet citing health issues. In May 2019, Mr. Jaitley was admitted to AIIMS for treatment. He had undergone a renal transplant on May 14, 2018, at AIIMS with Railways Minister Piyush Goyal filling in for him in the Finance Ministry at that time.

Jaitley, who had stopped attending office since early April 2018, was back in the Finance Ministry on August 23, 2018. In September 2014, he underwent bariatric surgery. August had been bad for BJP as it lost two of its Senior Most Leaders. Sushma Swaraj on August 6th and Arun Jaitley now.

A lawyer by profession, Arun Jaitley was among the leaders who were jailed by the Indira Gandhi government during the Emergency. He was a student leader at the time. He is the leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha between 2009 and 2019.
