Kapu Strongman Mudragada Padmanabham who steered Kapu Reservations agitation during Chandrababu Naidu‘s regime has totally forgotten about it after the government changed. He has been writing letters for trivial reasons after the new government assumed power.
The recent letter is seeking permission for Sankranthi and Ugadi festivals. Mudragada Padmanabham has written an open letter to CM Jagan to that extent. The letter states that it has been a custom of the people here for ages. He asked to permit traditional games (like Cock fights, Oxen races, Horse Races, Oxen Dragging Weights, etc) and other competitions for five days.
He requested that permanent orders be given for celebration for these five days every year. “These festivals are not more dangerous games than Jallikattu,” he said. He requested the Chief Minister to ensure that people are not arrested for playing these games.
It looks like there is no issue pertaining to the Kapu community after the government changed and Mudragada started focusing on other issues as the community is progressing.
