Uttar Pradesh recently became the first state in India to adopt Twitter services to handle the woes of the public. The UP Police which one of the world’s largest police organisations, serving more than 200 million people, commenced the live ‘Twitter Seva’ which is for the “better redressal” of the people’s issues.
This live customer service using the microblogging site Twitter is a new and innovative way of reaching the public easily, efficiently, and quickly. It is expected that it will incite a huge response from the public, with most of them already on social media.
Speaking of our Telugu states Telangana has made some headway on launching few of their police Twitter handles while AP is yet to take the initiative.
