Telangana-Police-in-faceboo

This is infact a testimony to the reach of social networking site Facebook to common people and its popularity. Today, social world has seeped deep into the lives of urban people’s life. Films, politics, business and many other things made way into this world to benefit from the huge reach it provides to the benefactors. Now it is the turn of TS police to take an initiative to take complaints on Facebook, in Hyderabad region, the first of its kind in the country.

There are about 60 police stations in different zones of Hyderabad. Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma wants to be this to be taken up as a pilot project and hence ordered the same to the DCPs, ACPs and the technical team to create official pages on Facebook. That means each police station will have an official page on Facebook and Station House Officer concerned will be in charge and responsible for the complaints received.

This is seen as a move to improve the relations of police with common people and address the issues pertaining to different areas. Hence help in bridging the gap between police and public. This would help in creating awareness among police to become more friendly and create impact on public. But posting irrevalent messages and indecent content would sure be kept under check and the detractors will have to face dire consequences under the IT Act.
