The Elite Greyhounds of Andhra Pradesh have undertaken the first ever massive Naxal Encounter this morning in the cut of area of Malkangiri in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha Border. At least 23 Maoists were said to be eliminated when the Maoists team came there for a meeting. The slain Maoists include Top Commander and Incharge of AOB area, Gajarla Ravi Alias Ganesh Alias Anand Alias Uday.
Gajarla Ravi is carrying a reward of 2 Lakhs on his head. The Greyhounds have also recovered 4 AK-47s and a huge quantity of other arms and ammunition from the camp of the Maoists. The assault commander of Greyhound team, A DSP Rank officer) got injured in this encounter. He was immediately air evacuated.
Two other Policemen also got injured. Helicopters are being rushed to take out them and the other injured Maoists. Reports are emerging that the killed Maoists will also include several other important commanders and this will come as a big blow to the Maoists who are already weakened in both the Telugu States.
