Finally Telangana gets respite from Power woes!Telangana government had made an MOU with Chhattisgarh government for the purchase of 1000 MW Power. Telangana is planning to bring this power from Chattisgarh via Vardha to Dichpally Power line. If every thing goes as per plan, Telangana will have sufficient power from the next Kharif season.

The officials of both the states have signed this MOU in the presence of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao. This power purchase agreement is of long term and will be in effect for the next 12 years. Telangana government is adamant of giving 9 hours power to farmers in the state from the next Kharif season in the mornings.

The state government did not reveal the complete details of this agreement like price of the power etc. But this agreement may turn problematic in the long term if the state government’s ongoing projects complete as per schedule. Telangana government had various projects lined up to finish in the next five years making the state power surplus.
