Fear of Losing 2019, Narendra Modi Reaches to Advani-The then Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has won 16 out of 31 Loksabha Bypolls held between 2004 and 2009 before claiming the Power for the Second time. But then, due to various reasons, Modi has won just four of 27 Bypolls since 2014.

BJP is also losing its stronghold in Uttar Pradesh which has propelled the Saffron Party to Power on its own in 2014. Allies are also distancing from BJP and this has prompted Narendra Modi to bring back the Veteran Party leaders like Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi in 2019.

Advani won the last elections from Gandhinagar in Gujarat. He along with Joshi were booted out of BJP Parliamentary Board, the highest decision making body in BJP. Amit Shah instead created a five-member advisory body — Marg Darshak Mandal — comprising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Shah himself and the two leaders Joshi and Advani.

The Marg Darshak Mandal has not had a single meeting since its inception. Indications are on that they will not get seats as well in 2019. But with sudden failures and distrust among the allies, Modi and Shah decided to relax the age bar rule and bring them back in action for 2019.
