Farmers Suicides: AP Ranked Third In The CountryBoth the Telugu Governments claim themselves to be farmers friendly and bring big schemes for them. But it looks like these schemes are not making much difference. This has been revealed by Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar’s written reply in the Parliament.

Andhra Pradesh is ranked third in the country in farmers’ suicides with a whopping 564 farmers ending their lives due to the farming crisis in 2020. The other Telugu state, Telangana comes next in Rank four with 466 farmers ending their lives in the same year.

These are only reported numbers and the actual numbers will be much higher always. Governments across the country are always notoriously famous for fudging these numbers to save their image. So, the actuals can be scary. The tragedy is that farmers’ suicides in Andhra Pradesh have increased by 14% when compared to the previous year (2019).

These numbers will be very uncomfortable for YSR Congress Government.
