Sentiment and Safety always are two factors that heavily influence a political event. When the event is gigantic like the political debut of Nandamuri scion Balakrishna, obviously both the factors should be taken in to consideration with utmost importance. These two factors made Balakrishna choose Hindupur for contesting his first election over his native Krishna district.

Safety: Since its inception in 1982, Telugu Desam Party did not even lose the election in this seat at least once. From its first candidate, P.Ranganayakulu to 2009 candidate Abdul Ghani all TDP leaders managed to win this seat convincingly. Even in 2004, when TDP faced its worst defeat in the state, the party’s candidate won effortlessly.

Sentiment: When you are heir of magnanimous personality like NTR, In AP you got to inherit his legacy and responsibilities too. Legend NT Rama Rao contested thrice from this constituency and won the hearts of the people effortlessly. Nandamuri Balakrishna wants to start from where his father stopped. NTR undertook several development activities like building model houses to poor. Balayya wants to continue his father’s legacy by promising to solve the water problem in the constituency.
