Expense-of-KCR-Farmer-Scheme-Goes-UpTelangana CM KCR’s Flagship Scheme of Special Allowance of 4000 each for every acre cultivated in each crop season is going to cost a bomb to the state exchequer. Earlier, the state estimated the cost to be 7000 Crore per year.

But then, according to the latest land records survey, the cultivated land cover is more than the government numbers and the cost is likely to be 8000 Crore per year. There is about 1.54 Crore acres of Cultivated Land in Telangana.

This scheme will reach 62 Lakh farmers in the state. Even though it will be a huge burden on the state exchequer, KCR wants to do that for the sake of 2019 Assembly elections. The state government had decided to give the first installment by May 15th every year and the second installment by October 15th every year to ensure that the amount will come handy for the farmers at crucial times
