YS Jagan TheatresThe Telugu film industry is heading towards another crisis. We have seen two films release for the first time after the COVID second wave and the happiness is going to be short-lived. Exhibitors of the state have decided to close all their theaters from August 6th.

The closure will be indefinite until Andhra Pradesh Government resolves the existing stalemate over Ticket prices in Andhra Pradesh. The issue has been ever since Vakeel Saab which was released in April. But the industry biggies are not able to convince the government.

There are rumors that they could not even get the appointment of the Chief Minister. The rates being proposed by the Government are as such the theaters in B and C centers could not even recover their electricity expenses even with their housefull collections.

The exhibitors have decided to revolt against the Government as this move may hamper the very existence of the theatrical system. Meanwhile, Andhra Pradesh Government has extended the Night Curfew in the state until August 19th. That means officially, Independence Day Weekend lost for medium and big-budget films.
