Exclusive: Multiplexes To Go Court Against Jagan Govt?Andhra Pradesh Government is gearing up to release the G.O. pertaining to the revised ticket rates later this week. One of the committee members told M9.news that they have submitted the report to Government. The G.O. got delayed due to some technical issues.

“We were told we would be sent the final draft before publishing it in the Gazette. But it did not come yet,” the member told us. Also, we are told that Multiplexes are not happy with the proposed rates and may have to fight a legal battle.

“The Government is keen on keeping the prices capped at 150 Rupees. Multiplexes wanted at least 200 because, in Telangana, the prices are 295 Rupees. But the Government is not keen. The industry folks have asked for at least 180 Rupees,” the committee member told.

“The Government even if agrees for 180 Rupees wants to allocate 20% of the seats for 150 Rupees. The multiplexes are not happy and are thinking to wage a legal battle if necessary after the G.O. is given. Multiplexes are worst-affected due to the pandemic and the sanitization expenses have also gone up. We need Government support,” a source in Multiplex association told us.
