ED Court Issues Summons to Jagan and Vijaysai ReddyED Special Court had issued summons to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, RS MP Vijaysai Reddy, Hetero’s Srinivas Reddy, and Aurobindo Managing Director Nityananda Reddy, PV Ramprasad Reddy, Trident Life Sciences Director Sarath Chandra Reddy, and retired IAS officer BP Acharya.

The orders came after Nampally Court transferred the charge sheet in the Hetero and Aurobindo cases to the ED Special Court. All those who were issued the summons were asked to appear in court on the 11th of this month. Jagan has been evading court appearances for one reason or the other ever since he became the Chief Minister.

He just attended the court once on January 10th, 2020. It has to be seen what he will do now. Both CBI and ED court have rejected Jagan’s plea for exemption over his personal appearances every week. The courts rejected to give a blanket exemption but said he is well within his rights to seak occasional exemption with valid reasons.

The Chief Minister had even filed a petition with the Telangana High court challenging the CBI and ED court’s rejection but could not achieve the exemption.
