Telangana - CEO Rajat -KumarTelangana Chief Election Officer, Rajat Kumar has revealed that plans are on to have elections in both the Telugu States on the same day going further. This is to prevent a few persons voting in both the States. “We have kept the proposal of elections in the same day and the Central Election Commission agreed,” Rajat Kumar said.

This time, Telangana Rashtra Samiti has gone for the early elections. So, Telangana Assembly Elections happened on November 2018 and Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections in April 2019. The Parliament Elections in both the States happened on the same day.

Telangana Assembly Elections may be delayed to have the elections on the same day in 2024. Settlers in Hyderabad mostly had voted in both the States. Due to Polling on different days, they tend to vote in both the States.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission recently sent a note to Union Law Ministry on linking Voter Card with Aadhar. This will also prevent dual votes if materialized.
