Election Commission Clears Yatra TV Premiere

Election Commission Clears Yatra Movie TV Premiere

Yatra – the Film on Late YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s Padayatra will be premiered on Star Maa on 7th April just before the election. Sensing this as a ploy to influence the voters before the elections, Telugu Desam Party General Secretary Varla Ramaiah made a complaint with the Election Commission to stall the film’s TV Premiere.

The Election Commission, however, confirmed that Media Certification Committee clarified that the telecast of commercial films on Television and Cinema Theaters cannot be restrained as per the guidelines and also clarified that this does not come under the violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

This will mean that Yatra will be telecast on Television tomorrow evening as planned earlier. YSR Congress has invested in Yatra movie and there are some visuals promoting Jagan towards the end of the film.. The director of the film, Mahi V Raghav has directed some ads for YSR Congress’ Election Campaign as well.
