Election Commission Bars Eight from Contesting Telangana State ElectionsElection Commission of India has barred eight candidates from top political parties from contesting elections as they failed to submit the election expenditure to the authorities with respect to the 2014 general and assembly elections. In Telangana, 47 candidates were disqualified Section 10 A of The Representation of People Act 1951.

Eight of the total 47 candidates are from top parties, four from other parties, and the rest all are independents. The list of the disqualified candidates from Top parties one from Bharatiya Janata party, one from Telugu Desam Party and three from YSR Congress Party.

Kollapur, Shadnagar, and Gadwal in Mahabubnagar district have the highest number of candidates disqualified for non-submission of election-related accounts. All the candidates are given final notice to explain. Notices are being served to the candidates in the list. If their reply is not satisfactory, Election Commission will bar them from the contest.
