ED-closed-sonia-case‘The National Herald’ was an English daily established by our first Prime Minister Jawarharlal Nehru 1938 which finally stopped operations from 2008 onwards. It had been the mouth piece of Congress. Last year, BJP leader Subramanya Swamy filed a complaint on Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi of misappropriation of funds and cheating. Swamy had alleged misappropriation of assets worth Rs 2,000 crore.

According to the latest news available, Sonia and Rahul are going to have respite from this case as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is likely to close the case because of lack of proper evidences. Sonia and Rahul are the major shareholders of this company which they intend to relaunch soon.

Initially Swamy filed a case in the trail court and Congress Party moved the High Court on this complaint. After repeated hearings from 2014 to 2nd July, the evidences against misappropriation are inadequate. Sonia and Rahul are once going to to be free from the case.
