Ahead of the Huzurabad by-election, Minister Gangula Kamalakar received an unexpected shock. ED has issued notices to Gangula’s Granite companies. The notices were issued to eight agencies, including the Swetha Agency of Gangula.
MP Bandi Sanjay had earlier complained to the Center that FEMA regulations had been violated. Recently, lawyers Beti Mahender Reddy and Gangadhar filed a complaint to ED regarding the minister’s company. The complaint states that granite was exported in large quantities while small quantities are shown in the books.
They complained that the companies here are supplying more granite abroad than permitted by the Ministry of Mines. Vigilance enforcement officials went to Kakinada, Krishnapatnam, Chennai, and Visakhapatnam ports in AP and carried out inspections before giving the notices.
They found that there is a huge difference between granite being exported abroad and what is shown in the records. CBI is also expected to enter the fray very soon. These notices have come at the time when Gangula is managing TRS’s Huzurabad by-election campaign.
