E-Commerce Comes Down Crashing Due to Corona LockdownThe economy is coming down crashing in this time of the Corona Crisis. The Brick and Mortar Businesses are already shut down for the last four days and that would be the new normal for the next 20 days due to the Nationwide Lockdown and now, the crisis has hit the e-commerce space as well.

Leading E-Commerce Company, Amazon had restricted the sale on its website. The company had decided to sell only the items of Household staples, health care, and hygiene products in this crisis. The delivery timelines of even these products are very high.

Another E-Commerce giant, Flipkart had totally announced shutting down its services. Even though the Governments have exempted online platforms like Grofers, Big Basket which deliver daily essentials from the lockdown, they are not operational. The Police department which is enforcing the Lockdown is seizing the warehouses of these platforms and is also heckling the delivery personnel of these companies.

As a result, even these platforms have stopped taking orders. There are several orders which are yet to be delivered due to these operational difficulties. Customers are left high and dry as empty shelves and serpentine queues greet them in offline stores and the online stores proving to be useless in these tough times.
