On an American Airlines flight from New York to New Delhi, a drunk passenger allegedly urinated on a fellow passenger. Once the flight landed, the accused was taken into custody.
The accused has been identified as a student at a US university, Arya Vohra. The reports suggest that legal action is being taken against Arya Vohra.
According to the reports, Arya Vohra urinated while he was asleep in a drunken state and it somehow leaked on a fellow passenger who complained to the flight crew.
The student apologized as he thought if the matter becomes big it might harm his career prospects. The victim also was not keen on reporting the matter. The crew, however, came to know about the incident and the matter was reported to the Air Traffic Control at the IGI airport.
The CISF personnel was alerted and handed over the accused to the Delhi Police.
A similar incident took place in November 2022 where a drunk man urinated on an elderly woman on board an Air India flight from New York to New Delhi. The accused, Shankar Mishra, was arrested. He was released on bail after a month in jail.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation imposed a 30 lakh fine on Air India as they did not report the matter within 12 hours of the incident. Shankar Mishra was also banned for four months from flying.
