Reports are the Team India’s Head Coach Ravi Shastri has informed the BCCI that he would quit his position after the T20 World Cup. BCCI will very soon begin the exercise to fill the vacancy with another Coach.
Bowling coach Bharat Arun, fielding coach R. Sridhar and batting coach Vikram Rathour’s contracts also end after the World Cup. So it will be a complete overhaul of the Coaching team. Former captains Rahul Dravid and Virender Sehwag, considered to be the favourites for the Head Coach.
Dravid, however, is not so keen as Head Coach position means being away from family for a long of time. Virender Sehwag is ready to take up the position but doesn’t wish to go through the hiring process, which includes filing applications and appearing for interviews.
In case, BCCI wants to look beyond these two options, it will likely to float an invite for interested candidates across the globe. But then, insiders say BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is not keen on an outsider.
