Amid the reports of a severe shortage of life-saving medical equipment, US President Donal Trump announced on April 1st that the US would soon have an over-supply of ventilators – enough to distribute across the globe to other needy countries like Italy, Spain, and France.
But then, the same day, a Russian military cargo plane – loaded with 60 tons of masks, ventilators and other items – to distribute to besieged American doctors and nurses. The Russian Foreign Ministry tweeted about the same along with a video of the packed aircraft.
The local media is alleging that Trump administration is intentionally making donations to other countries to paint a picture of All is Well even though the numbers say otherwise. Trump has asked Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to lift the ban on Hydroxychloroquine which India did.
But the President embarrassed Modi by saying to the media that he warned of retaliation in case the supply does not happen. This is the worst time to have diplomatic issues with other countries. Trump right from the day one underplayed the Virus saying it is just another flu. The casual attitude ensured that the US has become the country with the highest number of cases.
Even now, the USA is not put under complete Lockdown like that of India. Political Experts believe that this will definitely have an impact on the upcoming US Presidential Elections in November.
