Discussion begins on Telangana bill! Finally after several days of adjournments of Assembly, Telangana bill discussion began today. Seema Andhra MLAs except YSR Congress MLAs came to a conclusion that they should discuss the bill and send the defeated bill back to President to register their protest. If it happens then there may be an outside chance for President to halt the bifurcation process. However, YSR Congress MLAs were rigid on their stand and stalled the proceedings of the house in the morning.

Finally, speaker suspended 15 MLAs of YSR Congress Party for one day. YSR Congress Party Honorary President YS Vijayamma walked out of the house as a mark of protest. And later on the discussion on Telangana bill began in Assembly. As expected the proceedings are hot with Seema Andhra MLAs across the parties opposing the bill and Telangana people’s representatives supporting it. It is known that Assembly should voice its opinion on bifurcation by January 23rd. The house can ask for an extension to submit its views but it all depends on President of India’s discretion to grant the time or reject it.
