Union Civil Aviation Ministry recently accorded International Status to Gannavaram Airport. Emirates is planning an international flight between Vijayawada and Dubai. Singapore Government has proposed a direct flight between Vijayawada and Singapore.
Singapore and Andhra Pradesh Governments have collaborated in various projects including the development of the Startup area in the Capital Region. Singapore government wants this service to facilitate easy commute of the delegates and other officials.
Singapore government informed AP government that many airlines are interested in operating flights between AP and Singapore and asked the state government to get the necessary permissions from the Civil Aviation Ministry.
