Did Vijaysai Reddy Lie In Delhi?Polavaram Project Authority has rejected bills worth 1383 Crore in the already submitted bills of the Polavaram Project. The authority has once again confirmed that the bills will be paid only in accordance with the 2013-14 rates. That means the Center will only fund to the tune of 20,000 Crore for the project.

But then, as per the recent estimates, the project is likely to cost around 55,000 Crore including the R&R package. A few days before the Union Budget, Rajya Sabha MP Vijaysai Reddy led a delegation to Delhi and sat with the Finance ministry officials.

After the meeting, he told the media that the Centre had in principle agreed to accept the Jal Shakti ministry’s recommendations on Polavaram project revised cost estimates. But then with the rejection of these bills, it is clear that what Vijaysai Reddy told that day is not true.

In the middle of these politics, Polavaram – the dream project of Andhra Pradesh may remain a dream forever.
