Andhra Pradesh Assembly is discussing the Resolution to abolish the legislative council. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself moved the resolution and the resolution is likely to be passed effortlessly. The opposition, As soon as it is passed, the resolution will be sent to the Central Government.
TDP boycotted the Assembly today alleging that the Government bypassed Business Advisory Committee and planning to place already approved or referred bills. TDP MP from Vijayawada, Kesineni Nani had some strong words on the Chief Minister on abolishing the Council.
“Jagan Anna, People have given you 151 MLAs not to run after fearing 28 MLCs. People thought you would fight bravely. Did not think you are such a coward,” Kesineni Nani tweeted. The tweet is going viral on social media. On the other hand, there are mixed reactions over this move even from the YSR Congress supporters.
“We should have been patient for a year and we would be in majority in the council as well. Now, TDP will enjoy its majority until the center abolishes the council. Assuming that the exercise will take at least one year, we would have been in majority in any case,” they say.
