Jagan-Narendra-ModiA report in Andhrajyothy made a shocking allegation on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy as he tried to show there is no impact of Coronavirus in the state. In a video conference with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Jagan urged the center to relax the Lockdown and confine it only to Red Zones.

Jagan displayed a map of Andhra Pradesh which indicates the impact of Coronavirus on various districts. Even though there are Seven districts which have registered more than 20 cases, only two districts were marked in Red. The report said Jagan has tried to mislead the PM with that report.

While all the states have taken districts as units, Jagan Government intelligently picked Mandals. He said only 37 mandals out of the 676 mandals in the state were in the Red Zone and another 44 mandals are in the Orange Zone. Jagan urged to continue the Lockdown only in these 81 Mandals and ease it at other places.

Sources say that the Government wants to ease the Lockdown as soon as possible since it will make the finances tight for various welfare schemes. Also, the Government wants to finish the Local Body Elections as soon as possible so as to garner political mileage.

However, the Government of India did not take this Red Zones theory into consideration and the Lockdown is likely to be extended across the country till this month-end. According to the Medical Bulletin released last night, there are 405 cases in Andhra Pradesh.
