The other day, YSR Congress MLA and APIIC Chairperson, Roja faced the wrath of protesters outside the SRM University at Neerukonda village in Thullur Mandal while she was returning from the University after attending an industry-academia meeting at the university.
They demanded her support for their protests against shifting the capital away from Amaravati. Some of the protestors condemned Roja’s remarks where she called the protesters ‘paid artistes’ and her dismissal of their concerns. After escorted out of Amaravati, Roja made stern remarks against the protestors.
She blamed Opposition Leader Chandrababu for the blockade and the protests and called the protestors as TDP goons. “It is not fair to block leaders. If this continues, investors would refuse to come here. Amaravati will still be the legislative capital. People will lose even that if they do these orchestrated protests at the behest of TDP,” she said.
Amaravati farmers are very angry at this threat. “Probably, this may be a warning of CM Jagan. He is blackmailing us of shifting the Assembly if we do not toe his line. Instead of these veiled threats, Jagan should himself come out and say that,” they angrily said to the media.
