Is Andhra Pradesh Government trying to manufacture a coup in the State Election Commission to prevent Local Elections? The Commission indirectly hints the same after it has dismissed Joint Director GV Sai Prasad. He is also barred not to take up any other Government service and is not entitled to any terminal benefits.
Sai Prasad reportedly placed a leave letter for 30 days and deserted his station without intimation despite he is vested with administrative duties of the commission. Further, his dismissal orders alleged that he tried to influence other members of the commission to similarly go on for 30 days leave.
The Commissioner opined that this is to paralyze the functioning of the commission and derail the Gram Panchayat election. Even though it did not mention, the State Election Commission clearly indicated that the Government is trying to stall the election process using its favorable officials in the commission.
Jagan Government is openly fighting against the election and also approached the High Court on the issue. Already the Opposition parties are alleging that the Government is trying to disrupt the election process using its favorable employee associations who already threatened the boycott of elections in the name of COVID-19.
