With the sudden demise of Devineni Nehru, Vijayawada and Krishna Politics have lost a stalwart. Nehru got elected to Kankipadu constituency five times and one time to Vijayawada East constituency. He entered politics during NTR time and also worked as a Minister in NTR’s Cabinet.
Later after the coupe in TDP, he joined Congress and remained in the party until recently. In August last year, he joined back TDP mending differences with Chandrababu Naidu. While joining TDP, Nehru spoke a few words which came true now.
“I am born in Telugu Desam. My Political Life is NTR’s Biksha. I may have joined back TDP so that I will get wrapped with the TDP flag after I die. This is my wish,” Devineni said. The words came true finally. Some say Nehru managed to show the political direction to his son, Avinash with his final political move of joining TDP.
