Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu has shifted his focus on to Vishakapatnam’s water problem. There is an acute scarcity of drinking water and industrial water needs in the city which may become issue while attracting investments to the one of the most developed cities in Seema Andhra. Chandra Babu Naidu is planning to construct a 100-million-liter capacity Desalination Plant at a cost of Rs. 1000 Crores.

Officials from Municipal Administration and Urban Development are preparing a detailed project report to obtain funds from Center for the project. Officials say this will be a pilot project to solve the water crisis of the upcoming state capital. Similar kind of project was recently taken up in Chennai. A Japanese company handled the project and AP administration has asked for quotation from the company. The project will take approximately 30 months to complete.
