YSRCP senior leader and former Chilakaluripet MLA Marri Rajasekhar is once again ignored by Jagan. Marri was refused a ticket for Chilakaluripeta in 2019.
Back then, in a public meeting, Jagan promised him a cabinet berth and asked him to strive for the victory of Chilakaluripet MLA Vidudala Rajani.
Marri has been with Jagan right from the start. Marri did not figure in two cabinet expansions. He was not even made an MLC in the name of social equations.
Marri is the son-in-law of Somepally Sambaiah, a veteran Congress MLA. He supported YSR while in Congress and later shifted to YSR Congress after Jagan floated the party.
He was the Guntur district president and supported the party in Chilakaluripeta in difficult times.
Marri expected at least to get a Rajya Sabha berth but that did not happen as well.
Apart from Vijaysai Reddy, two leaders who got Rajya Sabha berths are turncoats from TDP. And another one is Jagan’s lawyer. None of them worked for the party.
Marri is disgruntled about getting ignored at the cost of turncoats.
After insulting him, YSR Congress bigwigs did not even try to talk to him.
After facing rejection in two MLC elections and now in the Rajya Sabha elections, there are rumors that Marri may change the party very soon.
