We see people entering politics for various reasons but then, there is a unique reason for Byrisetti Renuka who completed her MBA. She contesting from Amalapuram municipality 15th ward as an independent candidate.
Renuka claims to have got cheated by the son of a local YSR Congress leader. She tried to take up the matter with the local leaders but to of no use. She filed a case on the person in the local police station but the accused is yet to be arrested.
“Backward Classes Welfare Minister Chelluboina Srinivasa Venugopala Krishna is shielding the accused from arrest because the latter is a relative of the Minister. I am contesting the election to draw the attention of my plight to CM Jagan. I hope I get justice,” Renuka said in an emotional video.
Renuka’s story has become a talking point in Amalapuram and she also actively campaigned. The voting is currently underway in Andhra Pradesh for the municipalities and municipal corporations.
