Dear KTR, Your Hard-Earned Image is At StakeEver since TRS came to power in 2014, KCR’s son, K Taraka Ramarao has taken the center stage. KTR is the minister with the highest number of portfolios in the cabinet and he is made in-charge to every small election where TRS is expected to win comfortably.

There were allegations that KCR’s nephew, Harish Rao was intentionally sidelined to highlight KTR. The Young Minister also became famous for his prompt responses to various queries in social media. Media which is largely in TRS’s grip also gave tremendous amounts of Positive PR for the KCR’s scion.

He was also made the Working President of TRS. Every six months or so, we have been seeing media discussing KTR taking the State Reins replacing his father. KTR deserves some of this fame while there is also a planned consolidated effort to improve his image.

But then, all of that has come under stake now. Telangana seems to be horribly failing in handling the Corona crisis. The state has been doing the least number of testing and there are apprehensions that the Capital Region is sitting on a ticking Corona Time bomb.

There are reports of a shortage of lab technicians, facilities to store and process the samples, and there is just one COVID hospital for a population of Four Crore people of the state. The popular perception in the people is KCR Government could not even match the efforts of an inexperienced Jagan Mohan Reddy Government in Andhra Pradesh in this crisis.

The usually very vocal KTR has gone completely silent on this issue. It is just like the issue does not exist. At the time of writing this article, KTR is tweeting and liking about 10 Minutes Every Sunday at 10 AM to clean waterlogging in our houses. Even the strong supporters of KTR are feeling let down by this attitude. On the other side, #WakeUpTelanganaGovt is trending on Twitter.
