Usually dynamic and pro-active KTR has come under the attack for the first time last month as torrential rains hit Hyderabad. Normal Life is completely paralyzed bringing the city on its knees. The Municipal Minister went on to say that he is equally disappointed with the road conditions in Hyderabad but then can not help until rains subside.
The Rains have relented several days ago and there is no sight of roads repair. The Minister who promised the moon to the people went on a US Tour, totally ignoring the roads. GHMC on the other side, is continuing its ‘Lets See Tomorrow’ attitude and is only confined to minor repairs of roads which obviously will not last for many days.
The minister held a couple of review meetings and flew to USA. The only work he did about the roads was posting a couple of pictures where in he is seen taking with some officials laying roads in USA. The Minister went on to write the description as he is planning to emulate similar roads in Hyderabad as well. But then, Roads will not lie.
Usually, it rains every year around the time of Diwali and Hyderabad people are realizing that life will not be any different during the festival time for them. Its high time the rulers realize that minimum civic facilities are the need of the hour for the city before claiming to make it as another Dallas or Washington. Dear KTR, Time to Revise your priorities!
