In a smart move, the makers of Dear Comrade have released the video song of its next song instead of the usual audio. Looking at the video and listening to the song, they have made the right decision.
The Canteen Song is a passable number. As standalone audio, it lacks the impact of the previous numbers that are out from the film so far. However, some of those singles work when seen as a video, and that is the impact here as well.
The single take ‘Canteen Song’ has its moments as a video. In the narrative flow of the movie, it will work out if appropriately placed. Vijay Deverakonda truly looks like a star at the center amidst the crowd. The presence of a few known faces besides him would have helped, but it is alright.
Dear Comrade is less than a month away from release. Bharat Kamma directs the movie which has Rashmika Mandanna in the female lead opposite Vijay Deverakonda. Justin Prabhakaran has provided the music. Mythri Movie Makers are behind Dear Comrade which hits screens on July 26th in four South Indian languages simultaneously.
