Padimi Ramesh had announced stepping down as the party’s incharge in Darsi. Ramesh is upset with the party since Mahanadu. An NRI named Subba Rao has met Chandrababu Naidu in Mahanadu and evinced interest in to contest from Darsi.
There were reports that Chandrababu had promised him a ticket. Since then, Ramesh is staying away from the party programs and also vacated the party office recently.
Maddisetty Venugopal from YSR Congress won in Darsi the 2019 elections with a whopping majority of around 40K votes.
However, group politics is hindering the ruling party here. The sitting MLA is bring troubled by Buchepalli Siva Prasad Reddy who is the former MLA from the same party.
Siva Prasad Reddy is the son of former ZP Chairperson Venkayamma.
Both of them have become two power centers and are troubling the party.
TDP which should take advantage of this situation itself is facing the same problem of group politics.
Ramesh engineered a big upset for YSR Congress in the Darsi Nagara Panchayat elections.
It is interesting to note that Nandamuri Balakrishna has recommended the NRI’s name for the Darsi ticket. Interestingly, Balayya recommended Kadiri Baburao for the Darsi ticket in 2019. Baburao joined YSR Congress after the defeat.
The local cadre is upset with Balakrishna for once again being involved in the constituency affairs.
