Daggubati Venkateswara RaoFormer Minister Daggubati Venkateswara Rao has announced that he and his son Hitesh are quitting politics.

This announcement was made on the stage of the NTR Centenary Jayanthi Celebrations held in Inkollu of Bapatla district. On Saturday, he attended the celebrations as the chief guest.

“Our family is not used to politics using money and vendetta. Politics in the past and today are not comparable. That’s why Hitesh and myself are completely withdrawing from politics,” Daggubati Venkateswara Rao announced.

Daggubati Venkateswara Rao contested on a YSRCP ticket in Parchur in 2019 and lost by a slender margin.

His son, Hitesh was supposed to contest from there but had to back off at the last minute due to citizenship issues.

After the election, Daggubatis became inactive in the party after they allegedly suffered humiliation and neglect by Jagan.

Jagan reportedly put a condition that Purandeshwari who is in BJP should also come to YSR Congress and that insult did not go well with them.

Back then, there were rumors that Hitesh will join TDP. Venkateswara Rao and Chandrababu Naidu meeting after several years also consolidated those rumors. But it is not happening now.

Daggubati Venkateswara Rao’s political retirement is very much expected but his son, Hitesh also came as a surprise.
